Best Buy

Best Buy has successfully deployed Predictix merchandise financial planning and item planning in Mexico and China as part of a broad international rollout. The Predictix planning applications are designed to support Best Buy as it accelerates its growth in the global marketplace, allowing Best Buy to maintain a consistent, company-wide best-practices approach to planning, while having the flexibility to easily configure the application to each country’s local needs. Best Buy also realized that implementing traditional merchandising applications, beyond the high up-front expense of licensing and implementation, would also require costly investments in data centers and IT personnel, and would take years to roll out internationally. In contrast, Predictix is ideally suited for rapid international deployment, as it delivers enterprise-class merchandising solutions in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, with no large up-front investments.

dELiA*s

dELiA*s, a direct marketing and retail company comprised of two lifestyle brands primarily targeting girls and young women between the ages of 12 and 19, is localizing its offerings across all of its dELiA*s retail stores with Predictix Store Planning. Predictix has enabled dELiA*s to “micro-merchandise” by planning departments and merchandise groups at a store level across geographies, to get the best possible mix of stock in each store. With the ability to create localized store plans in Predictix, the company now sees fewer markdowns and higher margins. They are allocating inventory in line with each store’s requirements, giving them what they need to sell instead of ending up with a lot of markdowns. As an added benefit, dELiA*s was also able to support its growing planning needs while avoiding an expensive upgrade of existing systems.

M.Video

M.Video, a leading consumer electronics and home appliance retailer in the Russian Federation, has rolled out Predictix Forecasting and Item Planning. To achieve its top business priority for 2009, M.Video needed a comprehensive planning and forecasting solution with fast time-to-market that would help the company reduce its inventory and increase item availability amidst tough market conditions, thus improving store-level service by having the merchandise its customers want, in the right stores at the right time. M.Video also required the ability to perform forecasting at the SKU level to support its purchasing decisions – so it turned to Predictix with the goal of meeting these needs in a quick timeframe.

Rent-A-Center

Rent-A-Center, the nation’s largest rent-to-own operator, has successfully implemented a returns forecasting solution from Predictix in several hundred stores and is continuing to roll out across the retailer’s chain of nearly 3,000 stores nationwide. Rent-A-Center wanted to have better visibility to inventory in its stores, particularly for returned goods. Without this transparency, the company did not always have the right merchandise in the right locations, affecting its customer service and margins alike. The centralized returns forecasting solution from Predictix has given Rent-A-Center a forward view into returns, empowering its executives to know exactly how much new inventory to distribute to each store.

Leading Grocer

This leading grocer, with over 700 stores, had abandoned a price optimization software vendor's tool after investing several years and many millions of dollars to implement promotions pricing without success. In a matter of months, this grocer was up and running with Predictix Promo across several categories, and in less than a year rolled out the solution to all of its buyers, at a small fraction of the cost of the failed project.

 

Global Apparel Brand

This well-known apparel brand is distributed through department stores and specialty retail chains in the United States, Europe and Asia, as well as through the company's own first quality and factory outlet retail stores. The company realized that their existing systems did not adequately support their planning needs - to serve over 6,000 doors, multiple clients (with their individual calendars and unique needs) and the brand's various merchandising divisions. They considered traditional planning software, but realized that their alternatives were less powerful, and yet significantly more expensive and time-consuming to implement, than Predictix.
